Rumi Poems Volume 5 – I love you with my soul

November 18, 2021 Sufi / Rumi Poems 0

I love you neither with my heart
nor with my mind.
My heart might stop
my mind can forget.
I love you with
my soul because
my soul never stops
or forgets.

As you live deeper in the heart, the mirror gets cleaner & cleaner.

Keep walking, though there’s no place to get to.
Don’t try to see through the distances.
That’s not for human beings.
Move within, but don’t move the way fear makes you move.
Today, like every other day, we wake up empty & frightened.
Don’t open the door to the study and begin reading.
Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

Rise up lightly and go on your journey to the ocean of meanings…. Leave and don’t look away from the sun as you go, in whose light you’re sometimes crescent, sometimes full.

0h lovers!
Where are you going?
Who are you looking for?
Your Beloved is right here.

She lives in your own neighborhood.
Her face is veiled.
She hides behind screens calling for you
while you search and lose yourself
in the wilderness and the desert.

Cease looking for flowers!
There blooms a garden in your own home.
While you look for trinkets
the treasure house awaits you in your own being.

There is no need for suffering.
God is here.

I’m your lover
Come to my side
I will open
the gate to your love

Come settle with me
Let us be neighbors
to the stars

You have been hiding so long
aimlessly drifting
in the sea of my love

Even so
you have always been
connected to me
Concealed, revealed
in the known
in the unmanifest
I am Life itself

You have been a prisoner
of a little pond
I am the ocean
and its turbulent flood
Come merge with me
leave this world of ignorance

Be with me
I will open
the gate to your love

I am bewildered by the magnificence of your beauty and wish to see you with a hundred eyes. I am in the house of mercy and my heart is a place of prayer.

I want you to laugh, to kill all your worries, to love you, to nourish you. Oh sweet bitterness, I will soothe you and heal you. I will bring you roses. I too have been covered with thorns.

I am in love with you. What’s the use of giving me advice? I have already drunk the poison. What’s the use of candy? They say, “Bind his feet in chains, but they can not bind my crazy heart.

A moment of peace, you and I sitting on the verandah, apparently two, but one in soul, you and I. We feel the flowing water of life here, you and I, with the garden’s beauty and the birds singing. The stars will be watching us, and we will show them what it is to be a thin crescent moon. You and I unselfed, will be together, indifferent to idle speculation, you and I. The parrots of heaven will be cracking sugar as we laugh together, you and I. In one form upon this earth, and in another form in a timeless sweet land.

This longing, too large for heaven and earth, fits easily in my heart.

You are a volume in the divine book
A mirror to the power that created the universe
Whatever you want, ask it of yourself
Whatever you’re looking for can only be found
Inside of you.

All religions, all this singing, one song. The differences are just illusion and vanity. The sun’s light looks a little different on this wall than it does on that wall, and a lot different on this other one, but it’s still one light.

My heart is burning with love
All can see this flame
My heart is pulsing with passion
like waves on an ocean

My friends have become strangers
and I’m surrounded by enemies
But I’m free as the wind
no longer hurt by those who reproach me

I’m at home wherever I am
and in the room of lovers
I can see with closed eyes
the beauty that dances

Behind the veils
intoxicated with love
I too dance the rhythm of this moving world

I have lost my senses
in my world of lovers

I said: what about my eyes?
He said: Keep them on the road.

I said: What about my passion?
He said: Keep it burning.

I said: What about my heart?
He said: Tell me what you hold inside it?

I said: Pain and sorrow.
He said: Stay with it. The wound is the place where the Light enters you.
